In Full Bloom: Guernsey’s Floral Festival 2019
Guernsey’s Floral Festival continues to be in full bloom this week with ongoing events on the four islands.
The festival began on Sunday 2 June and runs until Sunday 30 June and features a range of flower-based activities including open gardens, walks, guided tours, and exhibitions.
All the events will showcase the beautiful flowers scattered throughout the landscape of Guernsey, Herm, Sark and Alderney.
This week some of the festival’s highlights include:
Wednesday 26 June at 7pm: Japanese Influence in Guernsey – a stroll through Saumarez Park followed by complimentary Sake tasting. Cost: £8
Friday 28 June at 2pm: Private Garden Walk in South Sark – a walk among some stunning private gardens in the South of Sark. No dogs allowed. Cost: £5
Sunday 30 June from 2pm to 5pm: Floral Guernsey Foundation Open Garden – the gardens at Castle Carey, L’Hyvreuse, St. Peter Port will be open to the public in aid of the Sarah Groves Foundation. Cost: £5
Sunday 30 June from 3pm–4pm: Candie Gardens Exhibition and Concert – take in the Guernsey Goes East Exhibition and walk around the Victorian Candie Gardens. The festival concludes with an outdoor concert sponsored by the Guernsey Arts Commission. Cost: Museum entrance fees apply.
