Originally founded in 1998, GTG has over two decades of expertise in providing physiotherapy services in Guernsey and Alderney. We are the largest physiotherapy providers in Guernsey, spanning the most specialties on the Island.
We are a team of Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapists, Physiotherapy Assistants and Technical Instructors. All of GTG's Physiotherapists are HCPC registered and CSP members. The GTG physiotherapy team includes Extended Scope Physiotherapists, who are clinical physiotherapy specialists, working with an extended scope of practice, allowing them to work beyond the recognised scope of physiotherapy. This means they can perform tasks including ordering investigations, such as scans or x-rays, and most will have a diploma in injection therapy.
GTG works closely with the Medical Specialist Group and Consultants working in various specialities within the hospital. We also have strong working relations in primary care and with GP surgeries.
We were awarded a contract by the States of Guernsey to provide physiotherapy services within the acute setting at the hospital, which also includes working with patients across the entire pathway of care, including provision of some outpatient and community-based services. GTG is based on three main sites in Guernsey but also operates from other venues within the Island. We operate from purpose-built premises which include individual treatment rooms, fully equipped exercise gyms and a hydrotherapy pool on our hospital site.
