WMS Service Centre was founded in October 2007 by Richard Le Poidevin and moved into premises on La Hure Mare Industrial Estate in 2009 with two full-time mechanics. WMS relocated to their much larger 4,000 square foot workshop on the same industrial estate in 2015, fully refitted with brand new equipment including five ramps and a scissor lift. Richard and his colleague, Liam Bridle have over 30 years combined mechanical engineering experience with a complete range of skills and knowledge. Richard spent some time travelling to the UK on various training courses including the Thatcham training centre & the Porsche training centre. spending 2 years engineering, 1 year of welding and 1 year of motor vehicle mechanics. Richard also went to Volvo Penta inboard engine & stern drives training centre & Barrus training centre for Tohatsu, Evinrude & Mariner outboard engines. Liam began his apprenticeship in 2007 on motorbikes. In the workshop taking on services and repairs on quad bikes, scooters, motorbikes and plant equipment including Honda, KTM and CAT. He also took on some Marine servicing, maintenance, rebuilds and welding. Liam’s third and fourth year were done on a large range of makes and models such as, Peugeot, Citroen, Volkswagen, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Range Rover, Mercedes, Aston Martin, BMW, Mini and BMW motorbikes. Liam had training on the diagnostic equipment for all these vehicles and spent a lot of time identifying faults on the vehicles. He also received training on air conditioning equipment and wheel alignment equipment. Liam joined us here at WMS and completed his fifth year apprenticeship with us. Since being with us Liam has not only qualified as a mechanic but has also gained a great knowledge of all our equipment. He has serviced much larger vehicles and plant machinery and improved his skills with welding and fabrication works on all makes and models of vehicle.
