A Wonderful Five Days of Music at the Alderney Music Festival 2024

The Alderney Chamber Music Festival returns in 2024 from 14-18 August.
This annual festival has become one of the island’s most popular cultural events, with ticketholders treated to a range of musical masterpieces performed by some of the world’s finest young musicians.
This year’s programme contains work by J.S Bach, Johannes Brahms, Robert and Clara Schumann, Claude Debussy and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Some of the musicians taking part include Louisa and Samuel Staples on violin, Toby White on ‘cello, Miguel Erlich on viola, and piano player Alexander Vorontsov.
On Saturday, a 30-minute musical workshop for children will also take place as part of the festival. According to the Alderney Chamber Music Festival website, this event is suitable for children aged 12 and younger. It will feature “sounds, stories, instruments and musical adventures, including a special performance of selections from Saint-Saens beloved family masterpiece ‘The Carnival of the Animals’.”
The final performance on Sunday will showcase well-known and beloved songs from the movies and musicals with arrangements from various productions such as My Fair Lady, Westside Story, Willy Wonka, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
