Guernsey Literary Festival 2024: Full Programme of Events Released

Ticket holders for the 2024 Guernsey Literary Festival will be treated to a packed schedule featuring talks from several well-known personalities including Louise Minchin, Sarah Beeny, celebrity chef Michel Roux, and former sports stars Mike Brearley and Pat Nevin.
The festival’s two-week run from 23 April-5 May, will also include insights from expert writers covering politics, history, science, health, and well-being. Local writers and book enthusiasts will also enjoy writing workshops as well as full education and community programmes and exciting competitions.
In a press release, the festival’s director Clare Allen, said “this year’s programme includes some of the most inspirational and creative thinkers from the worlds of literature, poetry, business, politics, stage and screen, food and drink, sport and history, amongst many others.”
She added: “Look out for our family events, schools programme and writing competition for school children, bringing literature, books and writing to people of all interests and ages. There are also a number of writing and poetry workshops, an international poetry competition and outreach events in the prison and care homes.”

Background:
The Guernsey Literary Festival is a not-for-profit event planned, organised, and run by a team of volunteers.
Since its inception the festival has established itself as one of the biggest annual arts events in the Channel Islands. It takes place over two weeks in May and attracts a diverse selection of presenters, personalities, and writers.
A series of workshops, tea parties, and themed events aimed at children is also held parallel to the festival.
