King Charles III and his wife Camilla will visit Jersey on Monday 15 July and Guernsey on Tuesday 16 July.

According to a Guernsey government press release, the royal visit will “highlight the special and historic relationship between the Channel Islands and the Crown which stretches back centuries.”

It added: “Their Majesties’ programme will include elements that showcase the communities of Guernsey, Alderney and Sark, our unique local culture and heritage, and the Bailiwick’s commitment to supporting biodiversity, sustainability and combatting climate change.

“The visit will include a special sitting of the States of Deliberation and centuries-old ceremony of homage to His Majesty, held outdoors on the St Peter Port seafront where islanders can come to watch the events.

“Their Majesties will then head to the Crown Pier to discover more about Guernsey’s local environment, heritage and traditions, including ongoing work to promote Guernesiais, local food production, and biodiversity initiatives.”

The royal couple will not visit Alderney and Sark on this occasion due to “time constraints”.

The Bailiff of Guernsey, Sir Richard McMahon said: “It will be a great privilege to welcome Their Majesties to the Bailiwick for the first time as King and Queen; the year after their Coronation.  Their visit this summer shows just how special the relationship between the Crown and the Islands is.”

This is the first time since 2005, a British Monarch has visited the Channel Islands.
