Christmas Lights in Guernsey

The Christmas lights in Guernsey, signalling the official start of this year’s festive season, will be illuminated on 25 November at 5pm.

Father Christmas is due to arrive at the Model Yacht Pond at around 4pm before making his way to Market Square, St Peter Port to press the button to light up the town.

Entertainment will take place around the Christmas Tree from 4pm while everyone waits for Santa to make his special appearance.

On 1 December, Father Christmas will be back in Guernsey to turn on the Bridge Street Christmas lights at around 5pm.

Meanwhile, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask Santa for gifts as he moves around the island. Santa’s Grotto will be at the Round Table Christmas Fayre in Beau Sejour on 19 November from 10am to 4pm. Then, on Friday 24 November he will visit the Castel Primary School from 4pm to 6.30pm.

Santa will also be at Le Friquet Garden Centre between 26 November and 24 December (booking is required) and at Earlswood Garden Centre, Ville Baudu Road in Vale from 5-17 December at various times.

One of the last chances to have lunch with Father Christmas will come on Sunday 17 December at Les Cotils, L’Hyvreuse, St Peter Port between noon and 2pm. The cost is £30 for adults and £15 for each child.

Happy holidays!
